Haunt at Great Oak

In 2022 we introduced our three animated witches.

How we came up with their designs and/or personalities...

Celtic Witch - We tried making the Celtic witch to resemble someone that might have originated from one of the isles near the United Kingdom. My wife wanted it to look like she was taking something from one hand to the other to put into the cauldron.

Dark Witch - My wife had a raven in mind as a familiar for the dark witch while she painted and outfitted the dark witch.

Baba Yaga - Growing up in Ukraine, my wife was introduced to Baba Yaga in stories and it was something that was used to scare children into behaving themselves. So she thought it would be fun to bring Baba Yaga to life, based on the picture(s) that she grew up with. After she finished painting our DIY Baba Yaga's face, her mom, who is, of course, also from Ukraine, came to stay with us for a couple of weeks. During that time the two of them worked on finalizing her appearance, while I assembled the various parts to her frame.

All three witches had their clothes purchased from our local Goodwill by my wife. Both my wife and her mom made all of the various accessories that you see, other than the witch's book that was made by myself.
